ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY

All academic institution should be held to the highest academic standards and DIPA is not different from any other other respectable school. As a result we hold each and every student that attends our academy to the same standards we are expected to uphold, in order to ensure they are prepared for the reality of attending higher educational institions or life in general.

All students will be held accountable for the academic integrity associated with any school related activity. Any student that chooses to circumvent the rules or willing engage in academic activities, that suggest dishonesty any form as describe in the integrity policy will face school disciplinary actions.

The following activities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Turning in work belonging to another person as your own work as yours.
  • Using words, thoughts or ideas from another person or source without giving credit.
  • Use another person words without putting it in quotation marks.
  • Purposely providing incorrect information about the source of a quotation
  • Paraphrasing another author’s work without citing the source.
  • Using the ideas of another author without citing the source.
  • Using different words but keeping the same sentence structure of the original source without giving credit.
  • Using the majority of the wording or ideas from a source that it compiles the majority of your work, (this is wrong whether you give credit or not)
  • Using a students work that has been submitted in a previous course.
  • Sharing of information associated with any class or the content of assignments, such as test, applies, projects or examinations.
  • Cheating in any form through use or acceptance of prohibited information for use on school assessment activities, that results in the sharing of information with another student, about the information on the assessment activity.
  • Using homework, class assignments, projects or any other assigned work from another student or anyone else.
  • Any form of tampering with school assessment tool or teacher accounts.
  • Disciplinary action for infractions are as follows:

First Offense

  • The student will be assessed a failing grade on the assignment with no opportunity to repeat the assessment.
  • The parents will be notified and the required administration persons.

Second Offense

  • The student will be assessed a failing grade on the assignment with no opportunity to repeat the assessment.
  • The parents will be notified and a phone conference with parents and administration.
  • The student will be dropped one full letter grade in the course, and have the ability to submit multiple assignments removed.

Third Offense

  • The student will receive a failing grade for the entire course.
  • Based on the severity of the infraction the student will be placed on academic probation or will be expelled from school.
  • The parents will be notified and a phone conference with parents and administration, and in instance where mulitple instances has occured, student maybe expelled and permenently ineligible for reenrollment into the academy.
